Patch your game
Drop your own Pokémon HeartGold Version (USA) file below, as a .nds or a .zip, and you get Origin HeartGold (起源心金) v4.0.3 in English back.
The page checks your file, downloads the latest patch and applies it for you. You don’t need to download the patch, find a patching tool or unzip anything.
Checking for the latest patch…
Your file stays on your device: this page checks it and patches it in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. We never provide the game itself.
- Check your game
- Download and apply the English patch
- Save your English game
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Nothing is uploaded. Everything happens in your browser tab. Your file never leaves your device; the page only downloads the patch from this website.
- Keep your original file. The patcher makes a new file and never changes yours. You need the original again for every new version of the patch.
- Checked twice. The page only patches a clean HeartGold (USA) dump, CRC32 C180A0E9, and checks the finished game against the SHA-1 published with the release before it lets you save it.
- Then play the saved
.ndsin an emulator. The patch is tested in melonDS; other emulators and flashcarts haven’t been tested. More help is on the How to use this guide page.
If the patcher doesn’t work for you: patch by hand
You can do the same thing with any xdelta patcher:
-
Download the
.xdeltapatch from the newest release on GitHub. ItsREADME.txtlists the SHA-1 your patched game should have. -
If your HeartGold file is zipped, unzip it first.
-
Open xdelta-wasm, another in-browser patcher. Choose your HeartGold
.ndsas the source file and the.xdeltaas the patch, apply it and save the new.nds. -
Or use
xdelta3from a terminal (replace the patch name with the file you downloaded):Terminal window xdelta3 -d -s "Pokemon - HeartGold Version (USA).nds" Origin_HeartGold_v4.0.3_EN_<version>.xdelta Origin_HeartGold_EN.nds
How it works
Section titled “How it works”The page computes your file’s CRC32 and SHA-1 (unpacking a .zip first with your browser’s built-in decompression),
downloads the latest patch from this website and applies it with
xdelta3 compiled to WebAssembly by xdelta-wasm,
inside a background worker in your browser tab. Both are open source under the Apache License 2.0; see the credits.
