Calendar encounters

The game changes a land encounter slot in certain places on these annual dates, using the game’s calendar. These entries were verified in v4.0.3’s encounter-loading code; successful captures and interactions with every other encounter modifier have not been replayed.

They replace the final land slot, normally weighted 1% of land encounters, while keeping its existing level. That is not a 1% chance per step or a verified shiny/visible-spawn probability. They do not replace Surf or fishing slots. Reloading the map is the conservative way to let the encounter table refresh after a date change; changing the clock while staying on a map has not been tested.

Morning: 04:00–09:59. Day: 10:00–19:59. Night: 20:00–03:59. The month and day must still match: July 18’s night window does not extend into July 19.

Diancie: the encounter specifies a form that could not be resolved from the normal form table. Do not treat it as a confirmed way to catch Diancie or Mega Diancie.

Volcanion: the April 16 entry modifies a land slot at Lake of Rage, where the land encounter rate is zero. Both ordinary land encounters and fresh visible land spawns reject that source. It is listed so the configured entry is not mistaken for a usable catch location.

These entries are separate from the Wednesday Lake of Rage events and from visible encounters and shiny retention.
