Chapter 33: Postgame, Lance's Visit and the Seized Items

The story ends with your final Hall of Fame entry. You wake up at home in Pallet Town, and Lance visits with the legendary items that were seized from Team Rocket. They are the keys to most of the postgame: the Red, Blue, Jade, Adamant and Lustrous Orbs, plus the Silver Wing and the Rainbow Wing. Johto’s side of the postgame is in the next chapter.

Main quest in this chapter: none; this is the postgame. Walk into your house in Pallet Town to start Lance’s visit, then use the orbs: Groudon in Mt. Moon, Kyogre in the Seafoam Islands, Rayquaza on Four Island, Deoxys on Six Island, and Dialga, Palkia and Giratina, with Regigigas and Arceus at the Sinjoh Ruins.

One chance each, so save first: Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Regigigas and Arceus all disappear for good if you catch them, knock them out or run away. A loss lets you retry only where the quest says so.

Hidden items along the way

Optional stops in this chapter’s locations. Some spots may need a return visit; check the location notes for access limitations.

Lance’s visit. When you step onto the ground floor of your house, Mom invites you to watch President Goodshow’s live speech about the Team Rocket affair. Then Lance arrives with the seized items: the Silver Wing, Rainbow Wing, Red Orb, Blue Orb, Jade Orb, Adamant Orb and Lustrous Orb. (The Griseous Orb is not among them.) The visit also brings Articuno back to the Seafoam Islands, Cresselia and Darkrai to the Dream World, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina to their places, and the Fallen Red Star back to Six Island. The Elite Four are back in their rooms and Zapdos (Power Plant) and Moltres (Cinnabar) can be caught.

guide/01 q-0022 (script file 842, the Lance branch of script 15 after flag 2261; the gifts are the seven key items 482, 483, 534, 535, 532, 135, 136 set at L1868-L1964), guide/07 q-0197 (final entry: flag 2261; Zapdos and Moltres), guide/03 q-0060 and guide/05 q-0130 (the postgame catches). Zapdos and Moltres are parts of those earlier quests.

Kanto. In the deepest part of Mt. Moon’s inner cave, at the altar where Maxie summoned Groudon, use the Red Orb: a wild Groudon. In the deep chamber of the Seafoam Islands, melt the ice, then catch Articuno (back since Lance’s visit) and use the Blue Orb on the pedestal at the north end for Kyogre (Lv. 95).

Technical source (script files and flags)

guide/02 q-0032 (Mt. Moon altar; needs the Red Orb in the Bag; knocking out or running away removes Groudon for good), guide/05 q-0129 step 4 (Lv. 95 Kyogre at the pedestal, one attempt) and q-0128 (‘Articuno doesn’t come back after this scene until Lance’s visit’).

The Sevii Islands. On Four Island, climb Sky Pillar Peak with the Jade Orb for Rayquaza. On Six Island, check the Fallen Red Star with both the Red and Blue Orbs in your Bag: a wild Deoxys (Lv. 95), one chance. The chief then demands a fortune; Jessie, James and Meowth work at the Island Restaurant on One Island, and the “Meowth God” settles the claim. This closes for good the Island Forest errands (the toll thug, the stolen doll and the wishing pond, and the Crawdaunt wallet thief) if you let the trio stay on Six Island, so finish those first. The shrine keeper at the Ritual Shrine on Seven Island may offer to lend the Azure Flute, but in a normal game the offer cannot be reached. With Latias leading your party, the fountain in the Secret Forest on One Island also has a short extra scene.

guide/06 q-0174 (Sky Pillar Peak summit; the Jade Orb), q-0175 (the Deoxys fight, the chief’s claim and the three endings; ‘the let them stay ending changes the Island Forest for good. Finish the forest’s toll thug, stolen doll and wishing pond and the Crawdaunt wallet quest first’), q-0176 (the keeper checks story progress and says ‘keep it safe’ after the report at League HQ), guide/05 q-0147 Notes (the Latias fountain scene after the final entry), q-0138 and q-0170 (Island Forest quests that must be done before the Lucky Meowth God, handoff from agent 2 and agent 3).

Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and the Sinjoh Ruins. With Lance’s visit done, Dialga and Palkia are back at the north ends of their spaces (from the Ice Path and from Mt. Mortar) and Giratina at the end of the Distortion World in Reversal Cave. After the final Hall of Fame entry the Ice Path statue only works if you carry the Adamant Orb. Then, with Dialga, Palkia and Giratina all in your party and the Azure Flute in your Bag, step into the centre circle of the Sinjoh Ruins (the Ruins of Alph’s temple of Arceus), fight Regigigas (Lv. 95) on the path to the steps, and call Arceus. If you could not get the flute, Arceus stays out of reach.

guide/12 q-0357 (after the final entry and Lance’s visit; one chance each; Dialga and Palkia reappear, Giratina resets), q-0359 (Regigigas and Arceus: ‘after your final Hall of Fame entry, if you could get back in’; the Azure Flute from the shrine keeper’s postgame gift and all three of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina in the party), q-0355 Notes (the Ice Path statue needs the Adamant Orb after the final entry).

Dates. After the final Hall of Fame entry the partners’ dates open (if the romance route is on and you have confessed to someone). Misty (male players) offers a Resort Zone date from the Cerulean Gym menu with four Multi Battles in a row; winning the Couples Double Battle can leave her missing from the Gym afterwards, so save before. Green or Red (the reverse of every other partner) lives with their parents in the house on Route 30 and only offers dates if you have never confessed to anyone. Yellow’s dates in Viridian City are in Chapter 32’s romance entry.

Technical source (script files and flags)

guide/04 q-0107 (starts from Misty’s date menu; the missing-Misty hack bug), guide/08 q-0241 (Route 30 house; only if you have never confessed), guide/01 q-0021 (Yellow’s dates in Viridian City, placed in Chapter 32 with the confessions). Date progress is shared by all partners (var 0x40b5).

Pallet Town: Lance’s visit home (after the final Hall of Fame)

Section titled “Pallet Town: Lance’s visit home (after the final Hall of Fame)”

Pallet Town Main quest Post-game

The scene starts on its own as soon as you stand on the ground floor of your house.

Where: your house in Pallet Town, ground floor.

Who gets it / when: everyone, once, after your final Hall of Fame entry (the one after you beat Giovanni at League HQ; see The Hall of Fame: what your two entries unlock). The scene starts on its own as soon as you’re on the ground floor of your house. Many “after the final Hall of Fame” quests in later pages wait for it.

How it works:

  1. Mom asks whether you’ve recovered from fighting Team Rocket and invites you to watch President Goodshow’s live speech on TV. He reports on the Team Rocket affair.
  2. Back at home, Lance drops by. President Goodshow sent him with the legendary items seized from captured Team Rocket members.
  3. You tell Mom you’ll set out again to catch the legendary Pokémon scattered across the regions.

Reward: seven key items, one each:

Item Used for
Silver Wing Lugia in the Whirl Islands
Rainbow Wing Ho-Oh at the Bell Tower
Red Orb Groudon in Mt. Moon; with the Blue Orb, Deoxys on Six Island
Blue Orb Kyogre in the Seafoam Islands
Jade Orb Rayquaza at Sky Pillar Peak
Adamant Orb, Lustrous Orb Dialga, Palkia and Giratina

What else it changes:

Notes: the Griseous Orb is not among the gifts.

Mt. Moon Side quest Post-game

Needs the Red Orb. One chance.

Where: the altar in the deepest part of Mt. Moon’s inner cave, where Maxie summoned Groudon. You don’t reach it from the main inner cave: in the first cave, take the passage about 22 steps north and 3 steps east of the Route 3 entrance (south of the old roadblock). You can’t walk straight up to it: go round by the east side of the cave and come down to the passage from the north. It leads to a small part of the inner cave; the passage at its east end (about 15 steps east of where you arrive) takes you down to the deepest part. From there the altar is about 28 steps east and 15 steps north, but the way winds: go south down the corridor, east along the bottom, north, then back west and up the long corridor heading north; at its top the altar is about 10 steps east. Walked in an emulator.

Who gets it / when: after your final Hall of Fame entry, with the Red Orb in your Bag. After that entry you wake up at home in Pallet Town, and Lance brings you the legendary items Team Rocket had seized, the Red Orb among them (Pallet Town: Lance’s visit home). This is after the Team Rocket Groudon story.

How it works: check the altar: “Try summoning Groudon with the Red Orb?” → Yes starts a wild battle against Groudon, Lv. 95.

Notes: losing whites you out, and you can try again. Knocking it out or running away counts like catching it: Groudon is gone for good (running away tested in an emulator).

Technical source (script files and flags)

file 133 (script 13, L2304, L2351; needs flag 2261 = final Hall of Fame and item 534 Red Orb); flag 2287 set on catch, knockout or flee (emulator, EN: fled, 2287 set); file 842 L1900 (Lance gives the Red Orb). Altar ≈37,115; arrival warp 9,130 (from 57,16). Emulator walk (EN, guide review 2026-10-06, pass2-B groudon_walk.py/groudon_walk2.py, Mt. Moon trainers’ flags set): 107 25,55 → via 42,35/49,44/51,18/35,18/35,29 → warp 28,34 → 524 42,13 → 57,16 → 9,130 → via 9,150/32,141/46,131/38,130/26,133/26,115 → 36,115, facing east: “Try summoning Groudon with the Red Orb?” (line 46). The 57,16 passage is in a closed pocket of map 524 (≈100 tiles) whose only other exit is the warp at 42,12, linked to the first cave’s warp at 28,34 (map 107; entrance 25,56); the main inner cave and Steven’s pocket don’t connect to it (collision-grid flood fill). The ball-sprite object at 36,115 is a cutscene prop (hidden by scratch flag 1366), not a pick-up.

Sky Pillar Peak: Rayquaza (post-game, Jade Orb)

Section titled “Sky Pillar Peak: Rayquaza (post-game, Jade Orb)”

Sky Pillar Peak Side quest Post-game

Needs the Jade Orb. One chance: save first.

Where: the top of Sky Pillar Peak, the spot where Rayquaza appeared: walk straight north from where you come out of the cave, to the far end of the summit.

Who gets it / when: after your final Hall of Fame entry, with the Jade Orb in your Bag (Lance brings it to your house in Pallet Town with the Red and Blue Orbs: Lance’s visit home).

How it works: check the spot. “The Jade Orb… is glowing faintly green. Use the Jade Orb?” → Yes: wild Rayquaza, Lv. 95.

Notes: one chance. Catching it, knocking it out or running all end it for good; nothing brings it back. A loss whites you out and you can try again. Save first.

Technical source (script files and flags)

script file 914 (script 3, L1366–L1682; flag 2261 required, flag 2165 set after the battle and never cleared), file 842 L1932 (Jade Orb). Spot ≈16,11 (cave exit ≈16,25). The final Hall of Fame clears Zapdos’s hide flag 1786 once (file 822 L2478); later entries don’t.

Six Island: Deoxys and the Lucky Meowth God (post-game)

Section titled “Six Island: Deoxys and the Lucky Meowth God (post-game)”

Six Island Side quest Post-game

Needs the Red Orb and the Blue Orb. One chance: if you lose, the Red Star is gone and the rest of this entry never plays. Deoxys is Lv. 95; Elder Wensha is Lv. 81-82.

Who gets it / when: after your final Hall of Fame entry, once Lance has brought the seized legendary items to your home (Lance’s visit home). The Fallen Red Star is back in its spot on Six Island, north of the chief’s door.

How it works:

  1. With both the Red Orb and the Blue Orb in your Bag, check the Red Star. It moves, and Deoxys charges at you: a wild Deoxys, Lv. 95. One chance, and save first: the Red Star vanishes for good the moment the battle starts. If you knock Deoxys out or run, it’s gone. If you lose, it’s gone too, and so is the rest of this entry: you white out, the chief never makes his claim, and Jessie, James and Meowth never turn up at the Island Restaurant. Reload your save instead. (Tested in an emulator: after a loss the Red Star is gone.)
  2. The chief storms in: you’ve destroyed the island’s only tourist attraction. He wants 100 million or he’ll sue. The alternative: find the legendary Lucky Meowth God in the Alto Mare Islands.
  3. Go to the Island Restaurant on One Island. Jessie, James and their Meowth are working there as waiters. Talk to any of them and choose:
Choice What happens
I’ll bring you to justice battle Jessie & James (Double Battle, Lv. 67–69, plus James’s Lv. 30 Meowth). You free Meowth and hand the two over to the League at the Indigo Plateau.
I need a Meowth God they come with you to the chief’s house. The talking Meowth is accepted as the Meowth God, and the chief drops the claim. He then wants to throw out Jessie and James, and Meowth insists they stay. Choose again:
  • Let them stay on Six Island: all three stay.
  • Take Jessie and James away: battle the chief (Elder Wensha, Lv. 81–82), then Jessie & James, and take them to the League.
  1. Only if all three stayed: walk into the Island Forest through its west entrance (the door in the north-west of Six Island); the change happens one step inside the entrance. From then on Six Island is a thriving farming island run by the trio, and many NPCs change. Reward: Deoxys. Either way the chief’s claim is settled.

Notes: the “let them stay” ending changes the Island Forest for good. Finish the forest’s toll thug, stolen doll and wishing pond (the romance reset) and the Crawdaunt wallet quest first. In the two arrest endings Meowth ends up in the chief’s house as the Meowth God, but the island doesn’t change.

Technical source (script files and flags)

Red Star ≈213,68; forest trigger ≈34,50 (Six Island door ≈175,76 → forest ≈33,51). Ritual Shrine: borrowing the Azure Flute (post-game; probably unobtainable)

Section titled “Ritual Shrine: borrowing the Azure Flute (post-game; probably unobtainable)”

Ritual Shrine Side quest Post-game

Probably unobtainable in a normal game: the keeper stops lending the flute once you have reported to Goodshow after the Arceus scene.

Where: the shrine keeper at the far north end of the Ritual Shrine.

What the keeper offers: after the final Hall of Fame, the keeper says the Azure Flute was returned and asks “Borrow the Azure Flute?”. Yes gives you the Azure Flute, which you need to replay the Arceus scene in the Ruins of Alph and for the Sinjoh Ruins.

Catch: the keeper checks your story progress first. Once you’ve reported to President Goodshow at League HQ after the Arceus scene (a story step before the final Hall of Fame), she only says “Please keep the Azure Flute safe” and never gives it. In a normal playthrough that report always comes before the final Hall of Fame, so the offer can’t be reached. The keeper’s check was tested in an emulator (after the report she only says “keep it safe”; with the story one step earlier she hands over the flute); that the report always comes first is read from the scripts. See Known issues.

Technical source (script files and flags)

keeper ≈16,3 (with the pilgrimage flag 2137 clear, script 1 moves her to ≈15,26). Script file 942 (script 4 L104–L293, L516–L547; var 0x40b7 ≥ 4 checked before flag 2261), file 31 L3316 (League HQ sets 0x40b7 = 4 before the Hall of Fame), files 49 L694 and 131 L590 (use the flute). Writes to 0x40b7: 17 @2509 (1), 129 @1183 (1), 769 @2423 (0), 49 @5260 (3, Arceus scene), 31 @3316 (4), 942 @539 (5) and @1874 (2), 131 @1288/@1367 (6/7). Emulator (emu_harness.py guide0107 --case azure_flute, 2261 and 2137 set): 0x40b7 = 4 → 624#47, no item; 0x40b7 = 3 → 624#45, Yes → item 536, 0x40b7 = 5.

Dialga, Palkia and Giratina: catch them (after Lance’s visit)

Section titled “Dialga, Palkia and Giratina: catch them (after Lance’s visit)”

Side quest Post-game

One chance each: save first. The Ice Path statue needs the Adamant Orb.

Where: the north end of Dialga’s space (from the Ice Path), the north end of Palkia’s space (from Mt. Mortar) and the end of the Distortion World (the spot where Giratina appeared).

Who gets it / when: after your final Hall of Fame entry and Lance’s visit to your house, the scene where he hands you the Team Rocket items. That scene makes Dialga and Palkia reappear and resets Giratina.

How it works:

Pokémon How to reach it What to do
Dialga, Lv. 95 Ice Path B2F ancient statue, with the Adamant Orb (from Lance) in your Bag: “resonating with the Adamant Orb” → Dialga’s space Talk to Dialga: “Dialga is watching you. Try to catch it?” → Yes
Palkia, Lv. 95 Mt. Mortar B1F ancient statue → Palkia’s space (it mentions the Lustrous Orb but doesn’t actually check for it; see the expedition entry) Talk to Palkia: “Palkia is watching you. Try to catch it?” → Yes
Giratina, Lv. 95 Route 47 → Reversal Cave. With the Griseous Orb in your Bag, the first-room statue “resonates” and sends you into the maze. Take the pad 12 steps north and 9 east of the exit statue (previous entries). Examine the spot where Giratina appeared, 7 steps north of where that pad drops you: “Use the Griseous Orb to summon Giratina?” → Yes

Notes:

  • Warning: one chance each. Save first. Catching it, knocking it out or running away all remove it for good. Only losing lets you try again: you white out, and it stays (Dialga and Palkia, Giratina).
  • You need the Griseous Orb for Giratina. After the final Hall of Fame it’s back in the Dark Cave shrine (Dark Cave: the Griseous Orb returns). Lance doesn’t give it to you.
  • Arceus needs all three in your party, but in a normal game Arceus can’t be summoned (next entry), so you don’t need to keep them for it.
Technical source (script files and flags)

script file 130 (script 10 L2706 Dialga, WildBattle 483 Lv. 95, flag 2342; script 11 L2748 Palkia, WildBattle 484 Lv. 95, flag 2343), file 135 (script 5 L264–L325 statue needs flag 2261 + item 112; script 28 L2400–L2528 Giratina, WildBattle 487 Lv. 95, flag 2340; all three set their flag on any result except a loss or draw: CheckBattleWon is false only for outcomes 2/3, arm9 0x0205172C, so fleeing counts), file 842 L1868–L1976 (Lance gives Silver Wing, Rainbow Wing, Red, Blue, Jade, Adamant and Lustrous Orbs) and L2193–L2201 (clears 2342, 2343, 2340), file 101 L4101–L4177 (Ice Path statue: flag 2261 + item 135). Positions: Dialga ≈89,30; Palkia ≈25,30; Giratina spot ≈49,117; pad ≈47,171 → ≈49,124. The story scene removes Palkia for good: HidePerson 6 (L2381) sets Palkia’s hide flag 2343 (the same mechanism as every HidePerson; tested in an emulator, guide review pass 2, CN and EN: Palkia present before, absent after the hide and a reload, pass2-A/palkia_hide_*). Lance’s L2197 clears 2343 again.

Sinjoh Ruins (temple of Arceus): Regigigas and Arceus (after the final Hall of Fame)

Section titled “Sinjoh Ruins (temple of Arceus): Regigigas and Arceus (after the final Hall of Fame)”

Sinjoh Ruins Side quest Post-game

Needs the Azure Flute and Dialga, Palkia and Giratina in your party. Regigigas is Lv. 95. Do first: Dialga, Palkia and Giratina: catch them (after Lance's visit).

Warning: in a normal game you can’t do this. Both Pokémon need the Azure Flute after the story, and the Seven Island shrine keeper never gives it back: he only tells you to keep it safe (Ritual Shrine: borrowing the Azure Flute; known issue). The flute is the only known way back into the temple after the story (Ruins of Alph: small extras), and the only thing that makes the centre circle react. The steps below describe what the game data says would happen; they can’t be confirmed in game.

Where: the Mystri Stage, the temple of Arceus. Regigigas stands on the path to the steps, and the stage’s centre circle is just above it, at the top of the steps.

Who gets it / when: after your final Hall of Fame entry, if you could get back in.

How it would work:

  1. Regigigas. “Regigigas guards the temple. You must defeat it to climb the steps. Challenge Regigigas?” → Yes: wild Regigigas, Lv. 95. One chance: catching it, knocking it out or running away removes it, and the steps are open. Only a loss lets you retry (you white out).
  2. Arceus. Step into the centre circle carrying the Azure Flute from the shrine keeper’s post-game gift (a flute from anywhere else won’t do), with Dialga, Palkia and Giratina all in your party (previous entry). “Use them to summon Arceus?” → Yes. The three appear and Arceus comes down. Talk to it: “Try to catch Arceus?” → Yes: wild Arceus, Lv. 95. One chance: catching it, knocking it out or running away removes it; only a loss lets you retry.

Notes:

  • Palkia’s space (the old Sinjoh Ruins) has a doorway at its north end that leads to the Mystri Stage, but you can’t reach it, so it’s no way in.
  • The three circles around the stage belong to the original game’s Arceus event (“Will you choose Dialga?”). In normal play they never react: they only work after a scene from that event, which needs a special event Arceus.

The centre-circle trigger (coord at 16,14) needs var 0x40B7 = 5, which only file 942 L539 sets (the shrine keeper’s gift); the outer circles (scripts 4–6, coords at 12,15 and 16,8) need var 0x4104 = 1, set only in file 131 L1400 (Cynthia’s event scene). Regigigas ≈16,19. The doorway at ≈13,7 in Palkia’s space is unreachable (guide_errata).

Resort Zone: Misty’s date, the Pal Park and the Couples Double Battle

Section titled “Resort Zone: Misty’s date, the Pal Park and the Couples Double Battle”

Resort Zone Side quest

Male players only, with Misty as your partner. Save first: winning can leave her missing from the Gym.

Continues Misty’s romance; how partners are chosen is in the central romance entry.

Where: starts from Misty’s date menu in the Cerulean Gym, once you’re dating her. You’re taken to the Resort Zone.

How it works: a Pal Park catching scene (no input needed), then Misty signs you both up for the Couples Double Battle. Win four Multi Battles in a row with Misty as your partner. A blessing ceremony follows and you return to Cerulean City.

Notes: starting the date removes Misty from the Cerulean Gym.

  • If you lose a Couples battle, you white out and Misty is not in the Gym. Find her at the photo spot at the tip of Cerulean Cape: say Yes to her photo (you need room in your album) and the Cape date plays again. Afterwards she’s back in the Gym and you can ask for the Resort Zone date again.
  • If you win, the date ends in the Gym, but Misty doesn’t reappear there or at the Cape, so her next date (“I want you to meet my mom”, in Pallet Town) can’t be started. The other scenes that send her back to the Gym all belong to the main story, which is over by then, so nothing found brings her back. Save before the date. This looks like a hack bug (tested in an emulator: after the date’s ending Misty is neither in the Gym, also after leaving and coming back, nor at the Cape; see the known issue).
Technical source (script files and flags)

file 758 (L7555–L7857; the date start sets Misty’s hide flag 595 at @7636; the Gym’s map script, script 8 → L3641, only clears 595 when flag 1645 is clear or flag 2142 is set), file 809 (script 15, L2897–L4348; trainer pairs 426+982, 565+10, 560+915, 674+1023). Next date: var 0x40b5 = 4 (809 @4348, after the warp to the Gym at L4324; 809 never clears 595). Retry after a loss: every loss goes to L4885 WhiteOut with var 0x40b5 = 3 (@592) and 595 still set; Route 25’s map script (216 script 4 → L3164) then shows the Cape Misty (flag 598), and her Cape date (script 41) ends at L12196, which clears 595 (@12236). With var = 4 she stays hidden at the Cape too. The other scripts that clear 595 (files 34, 195, 217, 795, 821, 834, 853, 912) are one-time story scenes, all over before the final Hall of Fame (flag 2261) that the dates need. Emulator (emu_harness.py guide0107 --case misty_date): 809 script 15 run from L4312 with 2261 and 1645 set, 2142 clear and 595 set → zone 427 with var 0x40b5 = 4, object 6 absent, also after a fresh warp into the Gym; Route 25 object 35 (flag 598) absent.

Route 30: Green’s (or Red’s) dates (after the final Hall of Fame)

Section titled “Route 30: Green’s (or Red’s) dates (after the final Hall of Fame)”

Route 30 Side quest Post-game

Only if you have never confessed to anyone.

Continues the Pallet Town romance entry; partner rules in the Romance route central entry.

Where: the house on Route 30 where Green (male players) or Red (female players) lives with their parents after the reunion.

Who gets it / when: after the final Hall of Fame entry, and only if you have never confessed to anyone. This is the reverse of every other partner’s dates, so confessing to Green or Red closes their dates (see Known issues).

  • Female players (Red): Red must not have been ruled out as your partner.
  • Male players (Green): the game checks a condition every player meets once they have their starter, instead of whether Green was ruled out, so any male player who never confessed can date Green, whatever his Dream World choice.

Otherwise they only offer a practice battle.

How it works: menu “Let’s go somewhere together” / “I want to battle you” / “I’m busy. See you later”. The battle (Singles or Doubles) is repeatable.

Date stage “Let’s go somewhere together”
first time Date 1: a walk in the National Park.
after date 1 Date 2: the Resort Zone, with four Multi Battles at their side and a heal before them. Losing whites you out and you replay the date.
after date 2 the option becomes “I want you to meet my mom”: a trip to Pallet Town. Afterwards they move out of the Route 30 house.

The rest (living together) is in the Pallet Town romance entry.

script file 228 (script 12, L750–L1748; L1787–L6037 date 1; L3151–L7606 date 2; L3042 sets 0x40b5 = 5 and flag 1806; trainers 28/29; MultiBattle 28/29 with 426+982, 565+10, 560+915, 674+1023). Conditions: flag 2261 (final Hall of Fame), flag 1645 (confessed to anyone) must be clear; female branch checks Red’s lock flag 2154; male branch checks flag 106 (set when you get your starter) instead of Green’s lock flag 2141. Date stage is var 0x40b5: below 3 → date 1 (sets 3); 3 → date 2 (sets 4); 4 → meet Mom (sets 5).
